Adam Morrison was a forward for the Bulldogs and was compared by some to Larry Bird.
He was a great scorer and shooter and had the size.
On the other hand, Reddick is a shooting guard for Duke with a complete offensive arsenal.
There was debate as to who the top scorer was.
Morrison played on a good team but some questioned his ability to score against tougher players.
Would he be able to muscle his way through like he did in college? Some felt that he was a horrible defensive player and that he was a bit slow.
Reddick was deemed soft and unable to create a shot by himself.
They felt that he lacked a bit of size and that he was not strong on driving.
However, let's not forget that these were the top two college players at the time.
The top were neck to neck but both suffered disappointing losses in the NCAA tournament.
Morrison let a game that was in his hands go and Reddick was horrible in his final game.
He was unable to hit a shot and was not good at all.
The way these players exited did not help their claim to be a top pick.
Morrison was selected with the third overall pick by the Bobcats who felt that he was a proven scorer.
The Orlando Magic with the 11th pick selected Reddick.
Some felt that Morrison was about right but others felt that Reddick went a little high.
People felt that he was unable to play the NBA game.
Reddick did not see much action as a rookie but Morrison did.
He did play well for the first month or so but went into poor shooting exhibitions.
He shot poorly showing a different side to him.
However, people still have their hopes and feel that he can come back much better next year.
The Bobcats team has also added Jason Richardson, a highlight player who will complement Morrison nicely.
Orlando has added Rashard Lewis and with Dwight Howard, things look good for their fans.
Maybe Reddick will get his chance to shine.
The two have been competitors since college but it has never died.
They still check up on the other to see how they are doing.
