    Spelman College

    • Spelman College, established in 1881, is located in Atlanta, Ga. The women's liberal arts college is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as No. 1 among all black colleges for 2011. Spelman College offers students two types of bachelor's degrees, the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science. However, the college offers approximately 26 majors in areas such as chemistry, engineering mathematics, art, English and drama. Prospective students must submit an application, nonrefundable fee, transcripts, standardized test scores and personal essay and two letters of recommendation.

    Claflin University

    • Claflin University, located in Orangeburg, S.C., was founded in 1869. The university has four colleges that offer students approximately 36 undergraduate majors which include biochemistry, music, sports management and engineering. The university also offers three graduate degrees in Master of Education in Educational Studies, Business Administration and a Master of Science in Biotechnology. Prospective students interested in attending Claflin University must send an application, fee, standardized test scores, transcripts and counselor's recommendation form.

    Morgan State University

    • Established in 1867, Morgan State University is located in Baltimore, Md. The university has approximately 42 majors which include marking, actuarial science, nursing and family counseling. Graduate students can also pursue graduate education that will lead to master's and doctoral degrees. For instance, Morgan State University has master's programs in architecture, teaching, city and regional planning and transportation. Applicants to Morgan State University should submit an application, fees, official transcripts and standardized test scores or GED scores of 410 on each section, and total of 2,250.

    Delaware State University

    • Located in Dover, Delaware State University was established in 1891. The university has approximately 54 undergraduate majors in areas such as business economics, finance and banking, Spanish, arts, and animal and poultry science. Students can also pursue one of 23 graduate majors in adult literacy, nursing, plant science or mathematics. Delaware State University has five doctoral programs. Prospective students should provide Delaware State University with an application, fee, standardized test scores and official transcripts to be considered.
