And I am so sure of this that I'd like to recommend a very good book to you.
No, it's not a recent book like the "7 Secrets of Highly Effective People" or anything like that, well, it's kind of like that, but it is much older, without all the hype.
The book that I want you to check out is: "Patterns of High Performance; Discovering the Ways that People Work Best" by Jerry L.
Fletcher; Berrett-Koehler Publishers, San Francisco, CA; 1993.
Now, I am fortunate to have a signed copy and yes, in 1993 there was also a little bit of hype in the self-help arena and the corporate management scene.
Things were changing, performance and achievement, results oriented goals were what counted.
You were your job in the 1990s and it makes sense that this great book was created during that generation and time period.
But, why do I recommend this book you ask? Because this book explores finding the patterns of productivity and performance, in yourself and those around you; then it explains how to implement a success strategy based on this.
It shows you how to succeed in your career, move up the ladder and then lead the hard chargers like yourself to victory.
Onward and Upward might have been a good alternative title, nevertheless the book is called; Patterns of High Performance and it is a book I highly recommend and on you should read.
