Designer collaborations are big business and Target has some of the best! The Lilly Pulitzer for Target Collection was by all accounts a runaway success and now the chain has announced their next designer line! Eddie Borgo for Target is set to launch July 12, 2015!
The Eddie Borgo for Target Collection will feature a line of 100 pieces of mostly customizable jewelry, the majority of which will cost $30 or less!
Who is Eddie Borgo?
According to EddieBorgo.com, "Inspired by shapes and symbols associated with adornment, modern art and architecture, Eddie Borgo creates collections that challenge our ideas of classicism and luxury.
Eddie Borgo began his exploration of adornment at university, establishing his pioneering point of view at that time. His fascination with the ideas attached to symbolism in jewelry began to evolve in a stage of experimentation, at which time he began making jewelry as one off pieces. After being introduced to a select number of stylists and editors, he was commissioned to create jewelry for the runways of Marchesa, Joseph Altuzarra, and Proenza Schouler. He formally launched his collection in spring summer 2008.
Eddie’s philosophy in jewelry comes from his attraction to the timelessness in modern sculpture and shape, and an obsession with capturing this spirit in his work. As his collections evolve, so does his unique ability to constantly redefine our ideas of modernity in jewelry, sculpture, and object."
What will be included for the Eddie Borgo for Target Collection?
According to A Bullseye View, The collection features the designer’s signature aesthetic – geometric shapes and symbols inspired by sculptural art and architecture – and on-trend textures, colors and finishes (think silver, gold and rose gold combined with materials like hand-poured resin, brass mesh and chains). It gets even better; the best part of this collection is how easy it is to custom-create your own unique pieces! Simply select a jewelry or accessory item, such as a handbag, necklace or earrings, and style it with a variety of components, including charms, studs and totems.
“When designing this collection, I was inspired by the idea of modernizing the 1960s and 1970s craft culture and empowering people to be creative,” said Eddie. “It’s been exciting to bring the spirit of this collection to life, and I can’t wait to see how Target’s guests make it their own.”
“Eddie has an amazing eye, and we love the ingenuity and quality of craftsmanship of this collection,” said Kathee Tesija, chief merchandising and supply chain officer, Target. “Our guests are looking for ways to personalize their look and express their individual sense of style, and this line gives them the ability to do just that through beautifully designed jewelry and accessories that feel incredibly luxurious.”
How much will pieces in the Eddie Borgo for Target Collection cost?
Pieces included in this collection will start at $7.99 and top off at $49.99. The majority of the pieces will cost less than $30.
Where and when can I buy the Eddie Borgo for Target Collection?
The Eddie Borgo for Target Collection will be available in many Target stores and online at Target.com beginning July 12, 2015.
It will be interesting to see how this affordable jewelry collection does compared to some of their past collections. Obviously the Lilly collaboration sold out within hours, but jewelry and accessory collaborations don't tend to sell out as quickly. Will this collection break that streak?
