- 1). Research. Get recommendations before you commit yourself to one sun roof installer. Read reviews and find out information. If you are unsure where to find a sun roof installer, look up in the Yellow Pages under "sunroofs" or "automotive accessories," call up your car dealer, and inquire at your local glass or window shops about sun roof installations. Check online for sun roof vendors (see Resources).
- 2). Call up the installation company. Schedule an appointment to bring your car in. It will make the necessary measurements to install your sun roof. Have the installer show you the exact measurements and how the installed sunroof will fit on your car to make sure this is what you really want for your vehicle.
- 3). Ask about the warranty. When buying an after-market roof for your vehicle you will want to get a good warranty on both the sunroof parts and the installation, in order to ensure you are covered in the case of any damage to the parts or to your vehicle.
- 4). Pay. Sun roof installation costs vary based on vehicle make and model and installer. Most installers will accept check or credit card.
