    • 1). Measure around your waist and cut 28 pieces of yarn to double that length. Tie them together at one end and separate the pieces into seven strands of four lengths of yarn each. Number the strands one through seven, starting from the left.

    • 2). Cross strand one over strand two, under strand three and over strand four. Cross strand seven over strand six, under strand five and over strand one. Continue in the same pattern crossing strand two over three, under four and over seven; crossing strand six over five, under one and over two; and so forth.

    • 3). Proceed until the entire length is braided together. Add a buckle and end pieces to the belt as desired, gluing, sewing or tying them in place.
