If you are happy with their quotation, then some companies will ask you to give your consent to go ahead with the recovery in black and white.
You can either hand deliver it to them, email or fax whichever is convenient.
Once this consent form is received, they will initiative the data recovery process.
If your data is highly confidential, such as secret photos, important trade secrets or data on a project you are working on, then you need to have a non-disclosure agreement signed.
In trying to recover your data, it is a common procedure to make a copy of your media so that the integrity of your media is not compromised in the event that something goes haywire.
Which means all recovery effort will actually be on the copy, not the original one.
In established joints, the standards used will ISO 9001 compliant.
Depending on the content of the original quotation, the data recovery firm may send you another confirmation document and attached with it are the outline of the data they had come across.
If you are happy with what you see, then give them the green light to recover the data back based on your instructions.
