There are no hidden fees, and you don't have to worry about how many minutes you are using. However, you need to be connected to the internet to use Skype whether you are using a cellphone or a computer.
- Lingo (lingo.com) offers a no-contract, unlimited international calling plan for $21.95 a month, with the first month free as of May 2011. This is a land-line option. You don't have to count your minutes. Lingo doesn't charge an activation fee or make you change your phone number when signing up. Also, the plan includes calling features such as caller identification, voice mail and call waiting.
- AGM Communications (callagm.com) offers an international calling plan starting at 1 cent per minute. Your prepay for your minutes, so you never have to worry about unexpected fees or charges. There are no activation charges, connection fees or cancellation fees. You can use a mobile phone or a land line with this plan, and you don't need an Internet connection.
