Listing of Charities That Take Used Furniture in California
- Goodwill of Southern California accepts donations of used furniture in good condition at many drop-off centers throughout Southern California. Centers are located in or near most major cities such as Los Angeles, Pasedena and Santa Monica. Los Angeles area residents can also schedule a free pickup for donations of used furniture.
- ReStore, a division of Habitat for Humanity, sells donated items to the general public to fund the building of homes. The ReStore in Riverside accepts donations of used furniture, building materials and household goods Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and also offers pickup service. - Salvation Army stores -- located in cities such as Modesto, Stockton, Manteca and Sonora -- accepts donations of used furniture, household goods and clothing. You can schedule a pickup for your furniture donation by calling 800-SA-TRUCK. the Salvation Army sells donated goods to the community at bargain prices through its stores.
- AMVETS operates several thrift stores in California with locations in San Diego, Fresno and El Cajon that accept donations of used furniture. You can also contact your local thrift store to arrange for pickup service. The stores sell donated items with proceeds benefiting veteran programs sponsored by AMVETS.
