The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar is a popular tourist destination in the country. The sight of snow-capped mountain peaks, tranquil lakes, lavish houseboats and colourful gardens are the major attractions of this place. People can enjoy some quality time amidst nature while admiring picturesque sights in the surrounding. It is a paradise for nature lovers, and they can easily reach here by booking cheap flights to Srinagar. As it is a popular tourist destination, almost all the low-cost carriers (LCCs) based in the country offer their services to this summer capital from major cities, such as Delhi and Mumbai. Here is a list of carriers that can be considered by people while making reservations for flights to Srinagar.


The leading airline of the country, IndiGo operates more than 630 flights every day. Its fleet size of 95 aircraft includes efficient models manufactured by Airbus. It placed an order of 180 A320 Neos, and delivery of the same will start in the coming years. This airline serves over 43 national and international destinations. Srinagar is one of them, and it operates seven daily non-stop flights from Delhi. The first IndiGo flight leaves Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport at 7.35 am and the last one departs at 3.25 pm. These flights take 1.3 – 2.5 hours to reach the destination, depending on the route and air congestion. People, who love their morning sleep, can book flights to Srinagar, scheduled at 12.45 pm, 2.30 pm or 3.25 pm.

This airline operates two daily non-stop flights to Srinagar from Mumbai. Both of them are scheduled in the morning at 10.45 am and 11.05 am. Passengers reach their destination by booking these flights at 2.35 pm and 1.55 pm, respectively. People, who cannot spend hours on their journey, can opt for the latter one as it is more time efficient.


It is one of the most cost-efficient air services providers in the country. Travellers can check SpiceJetflights scheduled to Srinagar for an economical travel trip. This airline recently announced CelebrationSale to make the deal even more lucrative. SpiceJet, which commenced air services in May, 2015 with Delhi to Ahmedabad flight, will complete one decade of commercial flying on May 23, 2015. To celebrate this occasion, this carrier announced a sale, which allows people to book flights at INR 1010 for selective routes. However, the sale ends on May 21, 2015, and is valid on the entire network of the airline. The travel period covered under this offer is from July 1 to October 15, 2015.

Travellers can choose from one direct and non-stop flights operated by SpiceJet on Delhi-Srinagar route. The former one leaves IGI Airport at 8.40 am and reaches Srinagar (SXR) at 10.05 am. On the other hand, the second flight leaves am and reaches its destination at 4.35 pm as it takes a halt at Chandigarh Airport for 35 minutes.

Similarly, the carrier operates one direct and one connecting flight between these two cities. The former one leaves at 10.15, reaches Amritsar (ATQ) at 12.35 pm. After a layover period of about 30 minutes, the flight takes off from ATQ and reaches SXR at 1.55 pm.
