Ok first of all, let's get to the point, would you want a stranger lingering around your residence at midnight, waiting to get an autograph from you? No way!

Guess what? And neither do the celebrities.

Does this mean you're a weirdo just because you want a signature? No Way!

Wanting an autograph from someone you admire is very normal. The stars and their agents realize this and they absolutely want you to contact them.

Not only do many celebrities love their fans but they also have a financial reason why celebrities want you to contact them.

How do you know that a celebrity is famous? Because they're very popular with their fans, and they have a lot of fans that love them and track their careers!

It's well known that the more fans a star has, the more they're "in demand" and offered high-paying record/film/sports/etc contracts.

This secret is absolutely critical. The celebrities and their representatives have a strong reason to keep you happy and that's why they keep in touch and send free autographed photos if you ask.

But how do they want you to contact them?

The vast majority of celebrities want you to get in touch through their agency or fanmail address. Every star has an agent that books deals for them, and they will also accept and forward your mail. What you should say in your request is coming up in another article, but for now, simply understand that there are certain addresses the celebrities want you to contact them at, and some they don't.

Contacting a star at home is usually not a good plan! They probably won't reply to you there anyway because they do want some privacy in their lives too.

Contacting stars at the proper address is absolutely important to your success! In fact, this can't be stressed enough.

Let's discuss further about what you can get from a celebrity in your mail.

Does it seem unbelievable that you can receive a free signed picture from your favorite celebrity or sports hero? Look at it this way, you're not really getting anything for free because the celebrity (or their agent) is footing the bill. Why would they do this? Because they want to be popular and keep a solid public persona.

If you receive a personally inscribed signature, you should get very happy because it's likely worth anywhere between $25-$500 or more (depending on their star power, their popularity, whether or not they're still alive, etc).

Here's the critical part, when you write to a star, tell them how much you appreciate their work, and then simply ask them for a signed photo. Be sincere! If you want to include a picture with your letter, ask them to sign it. Most of the time they'll be more than happy to do this for you and it's very simple!

So far we learned that most stars want you to get in touch, and that you can get free signed photos in the mail. The next ingredient is to use an accurate address to send your letter. How do you know if a star address is accurate?

Let's talk about this in the next article...
