Colds and Congestion
- When this type of cream is used on the skin, the heat of one's body will release the camphor vapors, which can help loosen up mucus and congestion in the throat and chest. Many people rub this lotion on their backs, chest and throats to get the most relief. Another use of camphor oil is to put it in a steam vaporizer and breathe in the vapors to get the same effect for a bad cold or congestion. Camphor oil can also be used to soothe a cough in the same manner.
