    University of La Verne

    • The University of La Verne has a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree program in clinical/community psychology. This program is designed for completion after five years of study; four of the five years must be completed in residence. The clinical internship is completed during the fifth year, and students have the option of completing this requirement in one year on a full-time schedule or in two years on a part-time schedule. After the students’ second year of study, they will receive a master of science degree in psychology and proceed to pursuing their doctoral degree.

    • The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in clinical/community psychology. This program has a scholarly, creative and socially responsible approach that prepares students for leadership roles in such careers as university professors, public policy analysts or mental health community center directors. During the first year of the program, students will learn what defines dysfunctional and functional behavior and strategies of intervention. During the second year, students must take one psychological assessment course.

    • The University of South Carolina has a doctoral program in clinical/community psychology. This program is science-based and teaches students about the social, intrapersonal and interpersonal factors that affect a person’s quality of life and well being. This program offers two major dimensions, which include social and cultural aspects of health and children, adolescents and families. Students will take courses that include psychometrics and psychological testing, biological basis of behavior and developmental basis of behavior.
