- Hospice home care allows patients to spend their last days at home rather than a hospital. Known as Routine Home Care, this type of hospice service is offered to patients who are considered to be in stable condition.
- If patients need more advanced care than can be given at home, they are not eligible to receive Routine Home Care. However, patients in nursing homes and assisted living communities can receive Routine Home Care from hospice.
- If a patient needs more services than can be offered at home, they will be taken to a hospice center or a hospital where they will receive General Inpatient Care. Typically, patients will stay in the hospice center or hospital until they die.
