How to Use Air Pressure to Stretch a Tire

    • 1). Pull open the tire beads with your hands and insert the rubber inner tube into the tire.

    • 2). Inflate the rubber tube in the tire with air pressure by attaching the inflation end to the valve stem and inflating. Overinflate the tube to stretch the tire sidewalls wide open.

    • 3). Lay the stretched tire into the sun for about an hour. This will make the sidewall of the tire more flexible and allow the tire to remain stretched once the inner tube is removed.

    • 4). Insert the valve core remover into the inner tube valve stem and turn it counterclockwise. Once the air is removed from the tube, you can pull the tube out of the tire.
