    • 1). Uninstall Internet Explorer 8 to automatically roll back to Internet Explorer 7. To do so, click the Windows "Start" menu and click the "Control Panel."

    • 2). Click "Uninstall a Program" if you are using Windows 7 to launch the programs list. Double-click "Add or Remove Programs" if you are using Windows XP.

    • 3). Click the "Turn Windows features on or off" link if you are using Windows 7 or "Show updates" if you are using Windows XP.

    • 4). For Windows 7, uncheck the "Internet Explorer 8" check-box and click "Yes" on the pop-up dialog box. For Windows XP users, click "Internet Explorer 8" and click "Remove" to remove the browser from your computer.

    • 5). When prompted, restart your computer. When the installation completes, IE 8 automatically rolls back to IE 7.

    • 6). Click the Windows "Start" menu and click "Internet Explorer" to launch the web browser. Click the "Help" menu on the top and click "About Internet Explorer." You should see "Internet Explorer 7."
