- Microsoft PowerPoint, a component of the Microsoft Office Suite, is a software program that allows the user to add visual impact to his presentations. However, the person presenting may wish to convert these files into printable documents that can be referred to at a later date. Fortunately, many software programs exist that allow a user to convert a file from PowerPoint format (ppt) to Portable Document format (pdf) that can then be printed.
- When converting from Microsoft PowerPoint to Portable Document Format, some of the image quality and color accuracy can be lost if precautions are not taken. To avoid this distortion, add the following steps after converting the file. Click on "Print Preferences." Change the color depth value to "true color." Then, open the page setup tab and increase the image resolution setting to 600 x 600 dpi. This will allow your pdf file to display correctly.
- A printable version of a PowerPoint presentation can also be printed directly from PowerPoint itself. Open the File menu and click on "Print." Select "Handouts" from the drop-down menu. Select the number of slides that should appear on a given page and select choose the "framed" effect on the slides. After clicking on "ok," the file will print.
