Toy tanks are a necessary part of any army toys collection if your child enjoys playing with such toys.
After all what else are the toy soldiers going to move about on? Luckily there are a variety of toy tanks on the market at the moment to suit all children or young at heart adults and all budgets.
Starting with the basic die cast models you can buy these individually or in sets of three.
They come in a variety of camouflage colors and are a chunky but manageable 4" x 2" in size.
They move on their own being powered by pull back friction to add to the interest of the toy and are nicely detailed with a moving gun.
They cost about $6 each or slightly less if you buy the set of three.
You can also find tanks in military vehicles playsets.
These come with a variety of army vehicles including tanks and make for a more complete and exciting play experience.
Some sets come in a backpack which is ideal to keep the toys together and tidy or to carry out and about in the car or on holidays.
For those children that enjoy model building kits, there are numerous tanks on offer.
Well thought of kits include a 1:35 scale model of the German Leopard tank or the 1:48 scale model of the Sherman tank.
They are either made from plastic or a mixture of plastic and die cast metal but all are incredibly detailed.
Some versions do only come with the tank parts so you will need to buy glue and paints to complete the build so it is worth double checking before you purchase.
If you have an older child or are buying a gift for an army toys collector, the Unimax Forces of Valor range is well worth a look.
These are well loved models that come in either 1:32 or 1:72 scales.
The Sherman D-Day tank is especially popular being a very detailed model.
It has some great features including tracks that roll, hatches that open and turrets that turn.
It even comes with four soldiers, sandbag protection and equipment for the tank.
However, perhaps the most fun you can have with toy tanks comes from the remote control versions on offer.
In particular the Abrams 1:24 toy tank is a great buy.
It has a rapid fire air gun that fires 6mm BB pellets.
That coupled with its ability to cover almost any terrain make it fun for children and adults alike.
Its turret spins and the gun can be raised and lowered.
Everything you need is in the box, including a box of pellets.
With its quick charge you will be soon be off enjoying your new purchase.
