A person who is plagued by anxiety may feel as if her life is spiraling out of control.
This is a condition that affects people in the United States and around the world.
It is characterized by an overwhelming feeling on anxiousness.
These feelings can be so powerful that it can literally leave a person gasping for breath as though all of the oxygen has been sucked out of the room.
As overwhelming as all of this may seem, there are ways to overcome this condition and maintain a sense of calm.
First, it is important to understand exactly what anxiety is and its triggers.
This is a condition that can occur at any stage of life.
People who stress easily and tend to worry are especially at risk.
Constantly stressing about relationships, money woes, work situations, and health issues can all lead to feelings of anxiousness.
In some cases, these feelings can be so strong that they interfere with a person's ability to function daily in a normal and healthy manner.
A person with this condition may experience bouts of sweating, tiredness, rapid heartbeat, headaches, tense muscles and nausea.
Other symptoms include panic attacks, and rapid breathing.
All of this can interfere with a person's ability to maintain healthy relationships with friends and family.
It can also hinder the ability to perform well at work because people who are preoccupied with worry have a hard time staying focused.
This mental state causes a person to obsess about what might go wrong.
This causes the person to live in a constant state of fear.
Often this fear is not based on reality but rather a perceived threat.
These fears can be caused by situations that would not frighten most people.
This is the basis from which phobias are formed.
Examples of this may be a fear of flying, or a fear of social settings, or a fear of cats, just to name a few.
This disorder can be caused by a variety of factors including genetics.
The environment can also play a role.
This can include a major loss such as a death in the family, a past history of domestic abuse, or substance abuse.
If left untreated, this disorder can have a debilitating affect on a person's life.
There are a number of treatments available for this condition.
Just keep in mind that the road to recovery can take a while.
It can take some time to get to the root cause of the phobias.
