How to Connect a Powered Subwoofer Using Speaker Wire

    • 1). Open the "right front" speaker terminals on the back of your receiver by pushing down on the tabs on the speaker terminals to open a hole in the terminal. Insert the gold-colored speaker wire into the red terminal and the silver-colored speaker wire into the black terminals.

    • 2). Open the "left front" speaker terminals on the back of your receiver by pushing down on the tabs on the speaker terminals to open a hole in the terminal. Insert the gold-colored speaker wire into the red terminal and the silver-colored speaker wire into the black terminals.

    • 3). Open the "right speaker in" speaker terminals on the control panel of your subwoofer by pushing down on the tabs on the speaker terminals to open a hole in the terminal. Insert the gold-colored speaker wire leading from the receiver's "right front" terminals into the red terminal and the silver-colored speaker wire into the black terminals.

    • 4). Open the "left speaker in" speaker terminals on the control panel of your subwoofer by pushing down on the tabs on the speaker terminals to open a hole in the terminal. Insert the gold-colored speaker wire leading from the receiver's "left front" terminals into the red terminal and the silver-colored speaker wire into the black terminals.

    • 5). Open the "right speaker out" speaker terminals on the control panel of your subwoofer by pushing down on the tabs on the speaker terminals to open a hole in the terminal. Insert the gold-colored speaker wire on a new length of speaker wire into the red terminal and the silver-colored speaker wire into the black terminals.

    • 6). Open the "left speaker out" speaker terminals on the control panel of your subwoofer by pushing down on the tabs on the speaker terminals to open a hole in the terminal. Insert the gold-colored speaker wire on a new length of speaker wire into the red terminal and the silver-colored speaker wire into the black terminals.

    • 7). Open the speaker terminals on your left speaker by pushing down on the tabs on the speaker terminals to open a hole in the terminal. Insert the gold-colored speaker wire leading from the subwoofer's "left speaker out" terminals into the red terminal and the silver-colored speaker wire into the black terminals.

    • 8). Open the speaker terminals on your right speaker by pushing down on the tabs on the speaker terminals to open a hole in the terminal. Insert the gold-colored speaker wire leading from the subwoofer's "right speaker out" terminals into the red terminal and the silver-colored speaker wire into the black terminals.
