Aloe vera can be one of the greatest life savers when you have a bad sunburn.
Many people have been taking advantage of the soothing properties of aloe for centuries.
Have you ever wondered why it is so helpful or if there are any side effects associated with the use of it? As I stumbled upon these questions myself, I decided to do a little research.
Aloe vera is a common houseplant that is widely known for its healing abilities.
The benefits of aloe ranges from soothing skin to aiding with internal problems.
It is a good healing substance because it contains 18 amino acids and many other beneficial ingredients.
Remarkably, the aloe plant contains all the vitamins that people need on a daily basis with the exception of Vitamin D.
In addition to these vitamins, it also contains enzymes, minerals, anti-microbial, and sugars that are beneficial to the body.
The main benefits that have been proven in medical studies are anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and restorative powers.
Aloe soothes and helps repair damaged skin.
There are many cosmetics that contain aloe vera, and it has been made into a juice that aids with digestion, eases muscular conditions, and reduces allergies.
While the side effects of aloe vera are very rare and often not of any concern, it is still good to be familiar with the possible ones that do exist.
Some of the problems that may occur with the use of aloe products include electrolyte loss, delayed healing of major wounds, discoloration of urine when taken internally, fluid imbalance and intestinal cramps.
These potential issues are nothing to panic over and should not discourage your use of aloe for beneficial purposes.
These side effects generally only occur if you have overdosed on aloe vera or have used it for too long.
