1. Have a positive mindset
You must have a positive mindset about yourselves. Even if you don't like what you see in the mirror, you always need to have the vision on a "new and slim" you.
When you have a positive mindset, then you will be motivated to eat healthy foods. Healthy food may not be that delicious as compared to your normal food, but they will do not job of keeping your calories and weight down.
2. Learn about the food taken by your ancestors
Your ancestors have been around for long, and over the years, they have developed food that is most suitable to them. Sometimes the food taken by your ancestors may not seem logical. But please understand that those foods have undergone the test of time and passed down from generations to generations.
So don't worry. Go ahead and eat the foods of your ancestors. By doing that, your body will feel good and you will have extra energy for the day.
3. Eat natural foods
You must try to eat natural food all the time. This is because natural foods contain lots of nutrients and this is good to your body. When you start to do this, your body will response by giving signals on how much food to eat.
Your body is a great machine. It knows when to stop eating when you treat it well. Counting calories is not necessary as your body know when it is full.
If you don't eat natural food and always go on processed food, then you will be treating your body badly. You body will response by not providing you with enough energy and you will always be hungry.
4. Drink lot of water
Drink as much water as possible. Have you ever heard people said they drank too much water? No right! Most of the time we heard people complain of not drinking enough water.
Water is a major component in our body. It helps to digest and is involve in a lot of process in our body.
You have heard people surviving with mere water during disaster right? Some can even last up to 7 days (some are even more than that) with just surviving on water as they can't find food.
So you see the importance of water here. Even the FDA recommends drinking 8 cup of water everyday. Now, go ahead and drink lots and lots of water.
5. Always take a small bite and chew your food well
We have been taught since young to chew our food well. How many time have your heard that?
But when we are adults, we take things for granted. Some will just eat by swallowing their food. Never ever do that. When you swallow your food without chewing your food well, your body will have to work extra hard. Besides, you may also get less nutrients if you don't chew well.
6. Increase your physical activity
You need to get moving in order to lose weight. Most of the people that are overweight are the direct result of not moving. They sit and sleep all the time and hardly move around. As they continue to sit and sleep all the time, this becomes their habit. And in no time, their weight increased and they are left wondering what happen.
They are a lot of physical activities that you can engage to lose weight i.e. mountain biking or just bicycle around the park, walk the stairs instead of taking the lift and etc… The main point here is to be aware of what you are doing. Always create your own opportunities to move around. I know there are times that we need to rest on a comfortable cough, nevertheless, more around whenever there is any opportunity.
