    • 1). Use the measuring tape to measure three inches from each edge of the 16-inch by 16-inch piece of aluminum sheet metal and mark several times along each side with the marker.

    • 2). Position the straight edge along the marks for one side and draw a line to connect the marks with the marker. Make sure that the line is straight because this is where the box will be bent to create the wall of the box. Repeat this step for each side of the payment box.

    • 3). Determine which side will be the front of the box. Use the metal snips to cut along the lines on this side. Stop cutting at the point where the line intersects with the other line that is perpendicular to the one you are cutting. Repeat this step for the back of the box.

    • 4). Position the piece of metal in the metal brakes so that the bend line lines up with the seam of the platform. Position the brake bar on the sheet metal and use C-clamps to secure the brake bar in place. Pull on the handles of the metal brake to make the bend in the metal. Repeat this process for each side of the metal box.

    • 5). Fold the tabs that are sticking out the sides of the box over the front and back sides of the box. If necessary, use the rubber mallet to pound the tabs to the correct angle. Use the drill to place a hole in the center of the tab and through the side of the box. Place a rivet in the hole and use a rivet gun to secure the rivet in place. Repeat this process for the other corners of the box.

    • 6). Position the hinge along the back edge of the box and use the drill to make holes in the back of the box that line up with the holes in the hinge. Place rivets in the holes and secure them in place with a rivet gun.

    • 2). Position the straight edge along the marks for one side and draw a line to connect the marks with the marker. Make sure that the line is straight because this is where you will bend the box to create the wall of the box. Repeat this step for each side of the payment box top.

    • 6). Use a hand-held welding torch to cut a narrow slit in the top center of the payment box lid. This will allow customers to slide money into the box.

    • 7). Position the hinge along the back edge of the box top and use the drill to make holes in the back of the lid that line up with the holes in the hinge. Take care to position the hinge on the box top so that the lid will sit squarely on top of the payment box. Place rivets in the holes and secure them in place with a rivet gun.

    • 8). Position a latch on the front of the box. Use the holes in the latch as a guide for the drill and drill holes in the front of the box bottom and in the front of the box lid. Use rivets to secure the latch to the box. Secure the latch with a padlock.
