    Monkey Theme

    • A nursery decorated with baby monkeys will be a fun place for your child to play in once he's older. For a baby nursery with this theme, buy baby bedding in green and pillows that are shaped like monkeys, or a blanket with the face of a monkey embroidered on it and Kelly or sage green pillows to adorn the crib. Paint the main wall of the nursery a rich green color, and have a professional paint a picture on the wall of monkeys swinging from branches. A large, stuffed monkey will look great in one of the corners of the room, and an area rug that features monkeys in the center of the nursery will help to complete the room's look.

    Stripes and Polka Dots

    • Stripes and polka dots in green and brown can be the main decorative theme of your baby girl's room, and there are lots of furniture pieces you can include in the room to bring the theme together. For instance, hang large wooden letters on the main wall of the room that are green with brown polka dots, or brown with green dots. Alternately, you can decorate the main wall of the room with these two colors by painting stripes on the wall in alternating colors, or using a stencil to make perfect polka dots in both colors on the wall. Wooden furniture is ideal for this room, since you can paint it in just the right color if necessary. Choose a wooden toy chest for your little girl in green and add brown stripes to the top, or select a chest of drawers in brown so that you can add green polka dots to the sides.

    Natural Theme

    • A nature theme makes a great baby nursery theme for a boy or a girl. Green and brown are the colors of palm trees, so an accent wall painted with palm trees and a green or brown area rug in the shape of the tree are ideal for the space. You can also include enlarged photos of grassy plains and tall, majestic trees to feature on the walls, and paint the walls in the room alternating shades of green and brown to accent each piece of artwork. Synthetic or real plants can accent the room as well; bonsai trees or other tiny plants on the windowsill or on top of your baby's furniture can help to bring the natural theme together.
