Setting Up Your Zune
- After opening your Zune and removing it from the package, locate the software CD before connecting the Zune to your computer. Install the software; this will prepare your computer to accept the Zune when it is connected. After installing the software, connect the Zune to your computer using the included USB cable. The drivers for the device will load, and the Zune software will launch.
During the initial setup, the Zune software will download and install any updated firmware that might be available for the device. After this, you will be asked a few simple questions about how you would like to configure the device. Enter a name for the device, along with a name that you would like others to see when they connect to you wirelessly. Finally, configure the options for syncing the Zune. You may choose to sync music, video, pictures and podcasts, or add all of these items manually. Click "Finish" and the media that you chose to sync automatically will be added to the Zune.
You can change your settings at any time by clicking "Settings," "Device" and "Sync Options" from within the Zune software.
