    • 1). Cut the existing adapter plug off the trailer signal wires. If possible, leave at least four inches of slack for each colored wire.

    • 2). Place a terminal splice connector over the trailer's green (right turn signal) wire so that the wire fits snugly inside the gap of the splice connector. Insert the green wire from the replacement trailer-side harness into the hole on the narrow side of the splice connector. Crimp the metal part of the connector to create the electrical connection. Close the plastic flap to seal the electrical joint.

    • 3). Place a splice connector over the trailer's yellow (left turn signal) wire. Insert the yellow wire from the wire harness into the hole on the narrow side of the terminal splice connector. Crimp the connector to create the wire joint, and close the connector flap.

    • 4). Place a splice connector over the trailer's ground (white) wire. Insert the harness white wire into the splice connector hole. Crimp the connector to the wire joint, and close the flap.

    • 5). Place a splice connector over the brown (marker lamp) wire. Insert the harness brown wire into the splice connector hole. Crimp the connector to the wire pair, and close the flap.
