Will Communist Colonist Environmentalists on Mars Protest to Save the Sand Bacteria?

Before retirement, I was in the car wash business, and I was amazed at how many environmentalists from the Sierra Club would show up at the city council or planning commission meetings and try to attack our environmental impact reports, and prevent us from utilizing the property we owned.
It seems as if no matter what we do did they would always come up with some reason why we could not build the car wash, and hire the employees from the town to do the work.
Indeed I'd like to talk about environmentalism run amuck, and the future of mankind in off world colonies.
You see, I think there are lessons to be learned from all this.
I can recall times when we were not allowed to build a car wash, or some environmental group deemed our environmental impact report invalid because we didn't address some rare species which supposedly lived on the property.
Sometimes it was some sort of small rodent, or some rare breed of plant.
Occasionally, there would be one corner of the property which had freestanding water which drained from the leveling of property into a small ditch, which created a pond.
Of course the pond wouldn't be there if we had graded the property, but now the environmentalists called it a wetlands and wanted to save the frogs, and the mosquitoes, and anything else that happened to live there, or come to drink.
The reality was these environmental groups didn't want us to build anything anywhere, and they were just pulling at straws to prevent us from doing our business, or getting a return on the property we had invested in.
Now then, in the future I wonder if environmentalists in future space colonies, perhaps on Mars or other places will protest the expansion of the colony and human habitats on the planet due to the harm which might be caused to the bacteria in the sand.
Will they file lawsuits with the international space authority, or the planetary council claiming that microbes might be harmed if human beings expand their current facilities by even a few yards? I bet they do, and it's not that we don't need to be cognizant of what we are doing, but rather we need to get real, and stop misusing environmental laws to serve political purposes or differences of opinion.
We already have too much of that going on in the world, and certainly here the United States.
In the end, I believe we are all environmentalists because we have to breathe the air and drink the water.
Still, it is amazing how things get so out of control so quickly with regards to environmental law.
We need not take all this minutia with us to another planet, let's leave all that debris back on Earth.
Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
