Why a Healthy Diet is Better Than Any Diet Pill

In our McDonalized society, we have managed to pack on the weight in our convenience-oriented culture of fast food.
Once we look at our pant size and realize we are battling the bulge, many of us want the instant results that we get in other areas of our life.
An entire industry has sprung up from this desire, manufacturing diet pills and marketing them so lucratively that many people actually believe the "magic pill" might exist.
Many of us have tried these pills without success.
In order to find out how to best lose weight, there are some important things to know before dieting.
Diet pills are widely available.
Many make claims to melt fat, suppress appetite and burn carbs.
The problem with these pills is that while some may do what they claim, there is no regulation from the FDA.
Finding a pill that will actually work is like looking for a needle in a haystack, and there are health risks that have been identified in some pills after people have used them with seeming success.
There are several different types of diet pills available on the market, with manufacturers attempting to appeal to every dieter.
Appetite Suppressants are by far the most popular type of diet pills available.
These work by expanding within your stomach, making you feel fuller.
These are available in a wide variety of brands, incorporating natural products and the more recent phentramin.
These are the most effective if you are going to use a diet pill, as doctors will prescribe an appetite suppressant for patients that contain a chemical compound that acts on your hunger to stop the sensors from feeling hungry.
Some of the over the counter products also use hoodia gordonni cactus.
This tricks your body into feeling full, although it does not work for everyone.
While appetite suppressants may be a good compliment for weight loss, by themselves they will not magically make the weight fall off.
Fat Burners make the claim of huge weight loss.
If it's too good to be true, it probably is.
Most of these pills are simply a form of caffeine, while some are made with green tree and guarana.
With this knowledge in hand, some of these do work, as green tea has proven to help lose weight - with an average of about 10 pounds over two month.
Fat burners are not good for more serious weight loss.
Another downside to these fat burner pills is that the high caffeine content make them dangerous, increasing heart rate, and blood pressure.
This can also lead to headaches, dry mouth and insomnia, which are not part of a healthy lifestyle.
With all the hype over carbs contributing to weight gain, people are looking for the solution to that as well.
Carb blocker pills are made from a white kidney bean extract, and while they may work to block carbs, it's nowhere near what the claims are for.
These pills are generally expensive, too.
Another risk you take with carb blockers is a false sense of security.
When taking a carb blocker, you are more likely to not watch your carb intake because you believe you are magically blocking the carbs from turning into calories.
This just isn't the case.
A healthy diet is the best way to lose weight, combined with exercise.
Long-term weight loss is a lifestyle change, not a prescription fix.
No matter how much you lose with pills, as soon as you quit taking them and return to your old behavior you will see the old results.
If you do need a little lift, try an appetite suppressant to help your body adjust to eating less, but after a few months, the body will become desensitized to the supplements anyway.
So find a good diet plan, stick to it, and watch the weight come off bit by bit without the health risks and expensive costs of diet pills.
